Committed to Non-discriminatory, Verifiable Nuclear Disarmament

India said it was committed to non-discriminatory and verifiable nuclear disarmament, nearly a week after it along with some other nuclear powers like the US, China and Pakistan boycotted the negotiations on a treaty on the prohibition of nuclear weapons in New York.

India believes that the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in no way constitutes or contributes to the development of any customary international law, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Gopal Baglay said.
