One of the largest dance events in the Greater Toronto Area was held on August 8 in Mississauga. Bollywood’s leading choreographers Bosco Caesar, who have choreographed over 300 songs, interacted and enthralled the audience spanning several age groups.

Held at the Living Arts Centre, the evening began with Emcee Jessica Sharma introducing Bosco Caesar Dance Company and the trainers. Over 600 people had a sneak peek into BCDC style of dance and learnt a step or two. For over two hours, Bosco Caesar and BCDC’s dance instructors kept the adrenalin flowing with men, women, youth and children up on the stage dancing with the renowned choreographers.  Chief guests Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell and Senator Dr. Asha Seth also went up on stage and danced with Bosco and Caesar and the trainers.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the launch of a flagship dance academy, BOSCO CAESAR DANCE COMPANY, by Sunray Entertainment and White Turtle Entertainment.  All age groups from 4 years above will be able to join the classes where several dance forms including Hooksteps of Bosco Caesar will be taught to students.   One lucky student will also have the opportunity to go to Mumbai and be a part of Bosco Caesar’s dance choreography in Bollywood.

The demand for Bollywood dancing is more abroad,” said Caesar.   “We feel it’s great to spread the love of dance overseas!   We will aim at visiting the academy once in 3-4 months. Our instructors, who have been training with us for years and have also trained Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, etc. are now in Toronto to train students.”

Bosco Caesar, who have been a part of the Indian film industry for over 14 years, have choreographed more than 300 songs and music videos. They have worked with super stars and top-notch actors in Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor.  Some of their memorable films include Mission Kashmir, Partner, Munnabhai M.B.B.S., 3 Idiots, Paa, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Gunday, Queen, Main Tera Hero etc. They have won the prestigious National Award, three Filmfare Awards, two IIFA Awards, Aprasa Award and Screen Award for best choreography.

“The main motivation behind starting our own company was to create a platform where we could teach our dance moves, our style to the people. We have been invited to so many dance training institutes to teach as a part of their guest faculty. We have taught our dance moves to so many actors and sometimes, we have to teach them to relax and not be so rigid and inflexible while dancing. So Caesar and I thought of coming up with a dance company where people not only learn our dance moves but also learn how to have fun while dancing. We want people to love dancing and not be scared of it,” says Bosco.

Bosco Caesar have worked on iconic shows with International artists like Right Said Fred (Filmfare Awards), Shaggy (Femina Miss India, Pepsi Commercial feat), Christina Aguilera (Rockstar), 2006 World Tour with Salman Khan, MTV Asia Awards, The Big V Concert, Khalid of Didi fame, Outlandish, Punjabi MC, Rishi Rich, RDB, Jazzy B and Hard Kaur, Choreography for Hollywood movie 'The Fall' (Directed by Tarsem Singh) & Commercial for 'Halifax Bank' (Directed by Tarsem Singh) and so on…

“Whenever we choreograph, it is whatever comes naturally to both of us. Somehow it matches. We were influenced by breakdancing and hip hop. We basically have fun. Our style was liked initially because it was new and power-packed.”

The choreographers admire and enjoy working with many superstars from Mumbai’s tinsel town.

“Katrina Kaif is great to work with. She is super hard working and she enhances the choreography. She pushes herself to do better and better and in the process pushes us to do better and in the end it all comes out brilliantly!” said Caesar.

“Bosco and I share an amazing bond with Ranveer Singh. We have very good understanding amongst us and our lingo is similar too. He is very hard working; he makes all the steps we give him, look very cool. He has such amazing energy and puts all his efforts into dancing. He does the choreography to the T even though he’s a non-dancer!”

The two have a number of upcoming projects on hand including Siddharth Anand’s ‘Bang’ with Hrithik Roshan& Katrina Kaif, Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ with Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar & Anushka Sharma, R. Balki’s ‘Shamithabh with Sir.
