Prime Minister Harper Participates in Operation NANOOK 14

Introduction

On the final day of this year’s Northern Tour on August 26,  Prime Minister Stephen Harper participated in Operation NANOOK, an annual Canadian Armed Forces-led sovereignty exercise held in Canada’s North.

Prime Minister Harper spent the day at Iqaluit and York Sound, Nunavut, engaging military personnel working closely with their northern partners from the Canadian Coast Guard, the RCMP and other government departments as part of a simulation exercise based on ensuring the safety and security of a grounded cruise ship’s passengers and crew.

This is double the number of new citizens compared to the same period in 2013 and thanks to the action taken by the government to reduce backlogs and improve processing times.

Little Terrors To Be Released in Theatres on September 12

A 13-year-old American boy is recruited by terrorists to bomb the US embassy in New Delhi, India. After being brainwashed, he is sent to live with a Muslim family prior to the attack. However, the man harbouring him begins to play a dangerous cat and mouse game while trying to convince the boy to not go through with the bombing. This is the crux of the film, Little Terrors, which is slated to hit cinemas across Canada on September 12, 2014.

Miss India–Canada 2014 Crowned At A Night to Remember

Cameras flashing, music beating monotonously in the background, and tension so real in the room. This was what the banquet hall of the International Plaza felt like when it hosted the Miss India-Canada pageant on August 16, 2014.

The much awaited evening began with a delicious 3-course authentic Indian meal. Then, the show started off with a bang when a very talented trumpet player began to play a familiar popular Bollywood tune: "Badtameez Dil", and all the delegates did a Bollywood dance style performance that got everyone's hearts racing.
