The Cheetah Girls go
Bollywood on Family Channel Toronto
Dressed in Rajasthani bright blues, reds
and oranges, three girls star in the third Cheetah Girls movie
filmed against the backdrop of the exotic city of Udaipur.
It’s a three girl music group -The Cheetah Girls who
travel to India to pursue the chance of a lifetime – to star in
a Bollywood film aired on April 14 by Astral
Media’s Family Channel with FamilyOnDemand bringing the exclusive
Canadian premiere of a Hindi version of the smash hit The Cheetah
Girls: One World. This music and dance driven story follows
Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), Aqua (Kiely Williams) and Dorinda
(Sabrina Bryan) - members of the go-getting music group.
When they learn the movie has room for only one Cheetah
Girl, the girls start to question their commitment to The Cheetah
Girls’ dream, and each must weigh her own aspirations against
the group’s future. Drama, dancing and Cheetah-style fun ensue
in this colourful movie that celebrates friendship.
Dubbed in Hindi, the story follows Chanel,
Aqua and Dorinda as they travel from New York to star in a film
directed by an aspiring Bollywood movie director. “Bringing multicultural programming, Family Channel is a premium, commercial free network offering the best in family television entertainment in 5.8 million homes across Canada. Dedicated to celebrating family life and

Cheetah Girls: One World is set against the city’s historic
landmarks, including City Palace. The movie, inspired by a book
series written by award-winning author Deborah Gregory, is
directed by Paul Hoen (Jump In, Tru Confessions) and executive
produced by Debra Martin Chase (The Cheetah Girls, The Princess
Diaries, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). Choreographer Fatima Robinson (Dreamgirls) fused hip hop and
traditional Indian dance for the movie’s high-energy dance
numbers. The music was composed by David Lawrence (High School
Musical, High School Musical 2).
